Career Discovery and Exploration
The National Career Planning Initiative from MyCollegeOptions.org is a free, easy to administer program that captures the interests, abilities and current plans of high school students to provide guidance as they explore and discover their “best fit” careers.
The National Career Planning Initiative will help you and your parents through this critical decision-making process. Developed specifically for 8th-10th grade students as you formulate your high school course plans and work toward a path to your post-secondary education and career preparation, the program provides a personalized report outlining directional guidance. This report will help you focus your career and education exploration and enable you to make informed short term decisions like the best plan for your course enrollments.
This program is only available through your high school; contact your guidance counselor if you are interested in participating. A National Career Planning Initiative packet can be requested on your behalf by contacting Peggy Jansen, My College Options Liaison at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 877-409-6366.
About the National Career Planning Initiative
The National Career Planning Initiative makes use of the nation’s primary source of occupational information that was developed by both the U.S. Department of Labor/Employment and Training Administration, and survey governance and ongoing improvements from leading research organization RTI International. Furthermore, Human Resources Research Organization, a non-profit research and development organization, applies the latest advances in science and technology to the human performance needs of public and private organizations.
